Wolfenstein 3-D Shoots the First-Person Shooter Into Stardom

May 5th, 1992 a genre as defined. While not the first FPS, Wolfenstein 3D introduced millions to an immersive world in which the action seemed to be happening from the player’s perspective. I can remember going to the computer lab at school during lunch to play the game - an eerie foreshadowing of choosing computers over socializing. You can’t fault me though, everyone enjoys killing Nazis!
