Today’s “LOUD” CD’s lack dynamic range?

“Interesting rant on the music business’s recent obsession with mastering new music CD’s as loud as possible. The rant suggests this to be a cause for boring, lifeless, fatiguing, music.”
This needs to get more mainstream attention, I’m doing my part here. This compression often occurs on albums that have been “digitally remastered” as well.
