Having to recently inventory my growing collection of USB thumb drives I quickly grew annoyed with a polite notification dialog you’ve probably seen yourself – This device can perform faster. The message will pop-up from your desktop tray from time to time as USB devices are introduced to your system. Typically you see this most often on older USB devices – as it were this time for me.

Following the urging of the dialog window and clicking through will show a list of all the available USB ports on your system.

Eradicating the notification pop-up in the future can be accomplished by un-checking the box next to Tell me if my device can perform faster.
