Return Album Covers to iTunes 8 List View

iTunes 8 has arrived with limited fanfare even though it’s been given a full point increment. Much of the disappointment is centered around Genius, Apple’s answer to popular music recommendation engines such as Pandora and Last.FM. Selecting a song from your library and clicking the Genius button results in a playlist of songs that are ideally similar in nature to the currently selected track. The execution and implementation is slick and easy, however the results aren’t nearly as impressive.

The second most talked about addition is a new graphical view of your iTunes library – Grid View. Like Cover Flow before it, Grid View displays Album Art for your media. Rather than the rollideck display of Cover Flow though, Grid View aligns the art in tiles. Visually, it’s a nice effect but it remains to be seen if it is anything more than a nice presentation.

Before

Unfortunately for me, on first inspection, Grid View took the place of the previous List View with Album Art. After some careful inspections, I found this not to be the case, thankfully. The Album Art is now uncovered in List View by a small arrow button in the far left column of your List View.
