Pandora

I’ve been listening to Pandora a bit this morning after hearing about it this morning on Call for Help. Briefly, you add ‘Stations’ in a small Flash console, by song or artist, and Pandora uses the Music Genome Project (basically every song has a DNA makeup) to play music suggested by your preferences.

One of the big problems I have in the digital music age is discovering new bands and their tunes. Pandora is a pretty interesting method to solve this problem and unlike a majority of the streaming radio stations out there, the quality is quite good.

You can skip quite a few songs per hour, but there is a limit. You can also indicate Ebert-like thumbs up/thumbs down on any given song. The theory is, Pandora will not play the song again, though I can’t confirm that.

Oh yeah, it’s free too.
