Let’s See All the Web Searches Done on your PC

Yesterday I discussed a handy utility from the guys at NirSoft that displays the installed codecs on your system and today I have another program from them. Privacy zealots may not want to hear this, but a lot of information can be gleamed from your computer quite quickly. MyLastSearch does just that. It is a free program that can return a list of web searches done from your computer, both in Internet Explorer and Firefox. By scanning your browser history as well as the cache, MyLastSearch extracts everything pertaining to a search engine query. The results, including Browser and Date of Search, are presented in a nicely formatted table.

While none of us should be shocked by the left over browsing bits littered about our system, it doesn’t make it any less comforting to know that a utility such as this can provide a quick snapshot of just what we’ve been up to. Admittedly, I do have a hard time coming up with any non privacy invasion reasons for this application but I’m sure they are a few out there.
