Is Microsoft about to release a Windows ‘kill’ switch?

A ZDNet.com Blog, posted by Ed Bott. Ed speculates that a specific unanswered question may reveal a September date to disable Windows if WGA has not been applied to computers running Windows.

This is not all that surprising to me. Furthermore, it was fairly obvious that this is/was Microsoft’s end-game when they began the Authenticate Windows check earlier this year on all extra software downloads. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this, but honestly, it’s probably within their right to protect their software. Even still, maybe this is the final push some need in order to consider OS X or Linux.
