Importing Firefox Bookmarks to Internet Explorer
I use Firefox as my browser of choice probably 95% of the time in my day to day use of the Internet, it’s just a better experience in my book. There are situations, however, when I must flip over to Internet Explorer begrudgingly. Over the years I have slowly gotten away from the notion of bookmarking – most of my regular browsing occurs through a myriad of RSS subscriptions – but they still have their place. One of the problems of using two browsers is the inability to have the same set of bookmarks in both. It’s actually not a hard process to move your Firefox bookmarks to IE – though not yet automated, it only takes a few steps to accomplish this.
- From within Firefox navigate the Toolbar to Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks. From the resulting Bookmark Library, you’ll want to select Import and Backup -> Export HTML.

- Save the exported HTML file in a location of your choosing. Note, this is a handy way to keep a backup copy of your Firefox bookmarks should anything happen in the future.

- Now from Internet Explorer launch the Import/Export Wizard by clicking File->Import and Export. If you don’t see the File option, use the keyboard shortcut ALT+F to un-hide the menu.

- Select Import Favorites.

- Browse to the directory location where you saved your Firefox bookmarks earlier.

- Choose the Folder you’d like your Firefox bookmarks to be imported into.

- Your bookmarks should now have imported successfully!
