The main focus here is whether the sex content was merely hidden, like an easter egg, in the game code, or has the mod community added the content? As it stands now, it is the responsilbity of the developer to fully disclose the content in any videogame to the ESRB. It is then up to the ESRB body to judge whatever rating is appropriate for the game. So, is Rockstar at fault here and should the game have received an ‘Adults-Only’ rating, rather than Mature?
Here is the deal fellas, the said content is not enabled by default, nor is it even a trivial matter to enable. One must go to some 3rd party website, download a patch for the game, and only then can we be treated with a low-polygon sexual experience. Give me a break! Could this cause a huge ripple in the mod community? It seems quite likely to me that the ERSB will adjust San Andreas’ rating, if only to save face.
What can we learn from this? Sex=the bad; but poppin’ police, peddling drugs, and prostitution=just another day at the office.
