Force Extensions to Work in Firefox Betas

Though still in beta, Firefox 3 is a wonderful improvement over the previous release. It’s more secure with built in malware detection and anti-virus integration. It’s far easier to use with tweaks happening to the password management system and an all new download manager with resumable downloading. Performance has improved dramatically as well – over a hundred memory leaks have been corrected alone. Why wouldn’t you want to upgrade?

Probably Firefox’s greatest feature, your extensions, are likely not compatible with Firefox 3 – at least that is what you are led to believe upon installing. However, this isn’t entirely the case. Many extensions can be “made compatible” simply by downloading the Nightly Tester Tools add-on. Download and install the add-on like any other. After restarting Firefox, the add-ons window will appear and by clicking the Make all compatible button it will do just that.
