Downloading Torrents Made Easier
BitTorrent is a fantastic protocol that facilitates the distribution of large files across the Internet easily and efficiently. Traditionally, users would first need to download, install, and configure one of the many BitTorrent clients available. Unfortunately, this is not for the faint of heart unless you are familiar with port forward and opening holes in your firewall. If that sounds like you, I’d recommend
uTorrent. For the rest of us, the web-based utility
Torrent2exe is a godsend.
Torrent2exe will take a .torrent file and encapsulate with an .exe - that is, you are able to download the appropriate torrent by simply executing the resulting file. This greatly simplifies the torrent process as it removes the BitTorrent client requirement. Here’s how it works.
- Locate and download the .torrent to the file you wish to receive.
- Upload the .torrent file to the Torrent2exe website.
- Click Start Download and save the .exe to your PC.
- The .exe can now be ran locally, or alternatively, redistributed by hosting it on a public website.

Now your less than tech-savy friends can still enjoy the benefits of the BitTorrent technology.
